30 days to go…then the beginning of a new era


Regardless of who wins, thirty days to go and this election will be over. The Republicans and Democrats are spinning everything. A truth expressed is not the whole truth.

The National Journal has a provocative piece about parasite baby boomers who have left the next generation with less than what the baby boomers had when they started.

I am not convinced that it is true ( many people see the glass as half empty all the time) but I will say that the baby boomers are just beginning to hit their stride. I count myself as one.

This is the moment. This is the time. We are just beginning the era of baby boomer politics regardless of who wins. This is a time for the competent among us to step forward for America and to take our government away from political families, professional political mainstream parties, and exploiters.

You and I are at the beginning of new American Era. An era of self-reliance, an era that undoes Fredric March, undoes the application of people as cogs and wheels to Big Business and Big Government.

This is an era of ‘We, the Educated and Knowledgeable People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

It is time to stop looking at the trees in the forest of American troubles and begin to establish better Justice, more domestic tranquility, a sensible common defense, a new compact for promoting the general welfare, and to once again secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity.

I call upon all educated and knowledgeable Americans to restore to America what we once enjoyed and that has been eroded since 1960. Help to establish a better future tomorrow than the future we perceive today.

It was never about hope or change. It is always about opportunity. Let’s make America great again by increasing opportunities for all Americans.

    I couldn’t disagree with you more. Baby Booomers are just now retiring or will be retiring soon. Your generation should have been thinking about how the government needs to provide for you and America about 10 years ago or so. Your generation HAS left the next with less than what it had started with. We have less freedoms, more restrictions, more taxes, more debt…I could go on, but all of your previous blog articles prove my point about what your generation has done to this government and this country.
    The competent among you are not going to care about others, they are going to take of themselves so close to retirement.
    I’d like to call upon MY generation- the GEN X’ers- We are in our 40’s or approaching 40 soon. We are the ones running for local or state govt positions now. WE are the ones who can change things in this technically savvy world. Although I think we will be challenged, since we will have to deal with your generation’s political clout or old school philosophy on how the govt works. In my opinion, we may not see “true” change in poilitcal mainstream parties until generation Y gets older in another 10-15 years.

  2. 58 congressmen today are over 70 years old. That is the generation that has led America astray and needs replacement. That is the generation that makes the average age of a Congressman 58 instead of 50 or less. My generation has suffered from distracted citizenship (except for me, of course). Introduced to space, computers, global everything, music, movies, etc. We spent so much time and money trying to learn the new world that we are just now beginning to run it. Plus new healthcare methods meant there was little attrition of Congressmen over the past 20 years.
    It wasn’t that we did it wrong, we didn’t do it at all. Times have changed and we are ready to step it up. You young whippersnappers can compete with us. It makes us stronger… and you, too.
